CIP INNOCENCE MARCH!

CIP attorneys now on their way to Sacramento!

Over the past decade hundreds of innocent people have been released from prisons across the United States.  It is now undeniable that our justice system sometimes convicts innocent people and sends them to prison.  The Californian justice system has not been immune to the problems that have led to the conviction of the innocent.  With the largest (over 160,000 inmates) and most expensive (nearly $10 billion a year) prison system in the United States, and many proven cases of wrongful conviction, there is a unique and compelling obligation to evaluate claims of innocence from California inmates and release those who have strong claims.

We are deeply concerned that innocent people continue to be incarcerated in the State of California and that insurmountable legal obstacles are standing in the way of their freedom.  The California Innocence Project has identified 12 of these cases and prepared clemency petitions on their behalf. With your support and participation, we will march these petitions to the office of California's Governor Brown in Sacramento.

Please join CIP attorneys Justin Brooks, Alissa Bjerkhoel, and Mike Semanchik at Innocence March events scheduled along the way. For complete details, dates, routes, and to sign our Petition please visit  http://innocencemarch.com/
