The Justice Society

Strengthen your commitment to innocence while supporting the work of the California Innocence Project.

About CIP’s Justice Society

The California Innocence Project’s (CIP) Justice Society is a donor network for individuals who are interested in criminal justice and innocence-related issues. Members will be given monthly opportunities to develop their understanding of the criminal justice system while connecting with individuals with similar passions and interests. CIP will kick-off the Justice Society in early 2020.

How do I join the Justice Society?

The only requirement for joining the Justice Society is to make a contribution of $50 per month to the California Innocence Project. Individuals who are not able to make a gift of that size are encouraged to find a corporate or individual sponsor to cover their donation. The full $600 annual gift is tax deductible and will enable the California Innocence Project to continue their important work of exonerating people who are wrongfully incarcerated.

Who leads the Justice Society?

While the Justice Society will be formally run by CIP staff Jasmin Harris and Jenna Little, it will also be governed by a committee of committed volunteers. CIP volunteer Alli Temnick will oversee the committee, plan meetings, and lead the group in organizing events.

How much time is required to be a part of the Justice Society?

While there will be no time commitment to join CIP’s Justice Society, the group will offer various types of opportunities for engagement throughout the year. There will be events nearly every month ranging from innocence related podcasts, book club style discussions, continued legal education classes, and happy hour meet and greets with CIP staff and attorneys.
